\Natural Pet is a proudly New Zealand–owned and operated small business, specialising in handmade natural homeopathic remedies for horses and animals

How to use

Flighty is provided in liquid form, offering a convenient and flexible way to support your horse during times of stress. The remedy may be administered directly into the mouth, added to feed, or mixed into drinking water—each method is equally effective. If dosing orally, we recommend using a clean utensil such as a teaspoon to avoid contaminating the dropper.

Recommended use during acute stress: administer 4 drops into the mouth every 5-15 minutes, up to 6 doses. This protocol may be repeated as needed.

Ingredients

Homoeopathic Ingredients:

Aconite, Arsenicum, Asafoetida, Gelsemium, Ignatia, Kali phos, Phosphorus and Rhododendron

Base Composition

Formulated in a liquid base of human‑grade undenatured ethanol (10%) and purified water.

About Our Ethanol Base

Our remedies are preserved using human‑grade undenatured ethanol, selected for its purity and suitability across species. The gentle 10% concentration supports product stability while remaining appropriate for routine use with companion animals, birds, horses, and livestock.

Ethanol and Animal Administration

Each dose contains only a minimal amount of ethanol. Most animals tolerate this well, and remedies may be administered orally, added to feed or water, or applied topically depending on species and context.

For animals with known sensitivity - or when cautious administration is preferred - the following approaches may be used:

  • Dispense drops into feed and allow to stand for 20 minutes before offering

  • Dilute in a small volume of warm water and allow to stand for 20 minutes prior to administration

These methods allow partial ethanol evaporation while preserving the integrity of the active ingredients.

Ingredient Philosophy

We select ingredients with a focus on purity, safety, and functional integrity. Our undenatured ethanol base reflects this commitment - clean, balanced, and suitable for diverse species, from household companions to performance and production animals.

FAQ's

Is ethanol safe for animals? Yes. Our remedies use a very small amount of human‑grade undenatured ethanol (10%), which is widely accepted as safe for routine use across species.

Why is ethanol used in the remedies? Ethanol acts as a gentle preservative, helping maintain stability and potency over time. It also supports the integrity of homeopathic preparations.

Can sensitive animals still take the remedy? Absolutely. For animals with known sensitivity, drops can be added to feed or diluted in warm water and allowed to stand for 20 minutes. This allows partial evaporation while keeping the remedy effective.

Will my animal taste the ethanol? Most animals show no reaction at all. When added to food or water, the taste is minimal to undetectable.

When I heard a neighbour (rural) was having fireworks on the Saturday after our town was going to be celebrating Matariki with fireworks (in town but funnels up the river and is usually like a war zone), I did some quick research and discovered 'Flighty'. I had nothing to lose and I gained so much. My horse is terrified of them and is dangerously uncontrollable, I started dosing when I got the bottle and could even notice a less demanding horse at feed times. Armed with feeds and doses of Flighty ready, I awaited the onslaught. She hardly blinked with the Matariki and was managable with the fireworks the next day. So MANY THANKS 'Natural Pet, you have me forever in your debt.

BJ my Clydie X came to live with us about 7 or 8 years ago. He arrived with some acknowledged people baggage. In spite of this he is a sincere and honest chap, who definitely felt more secure with some paddock between himself and people. Though he could not be described at all as a flighty or nervous chap, he did have a heightened sensitivity to touch as his skin would twitch when you touched him whether lightly or firmly. He carried his head high when you were on the ground around him and tended to stand very stiffly. My Clydie's distrust of people had made him less than inclined to rush up to be caught, though over the years regular feeding has improved this. After adding to his daily feed the Eponacare Flighty remedy by Natural Pet, within about a two to three week period, the body stiffness and skin flinching has all but disappeared. After about a month he is holding himself in a more relaxed manner. After some consultations with Paulette at Natural Pet, I began to dose his water as well as his daily feed. Since I began dosing his water, he has started to meet me at the gate and has even on several occasions cantered up the paddock towards me. His body language is now so much softer. He sometimes still takes a few steps away, but the other day he nickered out to me. Thank you Natural Pet. You have changed his world!
