Key Symptoms of Egg Binding

Egg binding in chickens can show through various signs, including:

  • Straining or difficulty passing an egg.

  • Lethargy or prolonged sitting.

  • Reduced appetite or water intake.

  • Visible swelling or discomfort around the vent.

  • Restlessness or signs of distress.

Egg Bound CH provides a holistic approach to addressing these symptoms, helping your chickens feel comfortable and supported during recovery.

What Can You Do to Help an Egg-Bound Chicken?

Egg binding can be stressful, but early intervention can make a difference:

  1. Provide a Warm Space: Keep your hen in a quiet, warm area to reduce stress.

  2. Gently Massage the Vent: Use warm, soapy water to relax the muscles and help the egg pass.

  3. Offer Nutritional Support: Ensure access to calcium-rich foods and fresh water to aid egg-laying.

  4. Use Egg Bound CH: This natural remedy complements attentive care, promoting comfort and overall well-being for your chicken.

Dosage Instructions

  • Standard Dosage: Administer 4 drops directly into the mouth, food, or water 2–3 times daily. For flocks, add 1 capful or dropper to the water. Continue for 5–7 days or until symptoms improve.

  • Initial Intensive Dosage: At the onset of symptoms, give 4 drops every 5–15 minutes for up to 6 doses. Then switch to the standard dosage for ongoing support.

This dual-dosage approach ensures immediate care while maintaining long-term recovery support.

How to use

All Agripathics remedies come in liquid form, as we have found this to be the easiest way to administer them.

You can dose a chicken or bird individually or at the flock level.

Individually:

Homeopathic remedies are best administered onto a mucus membrane, so directly into the mouth, otherwise into food or water..

Flock Level:

This is best done by adding one capful or dropperful to their water trough, so that each time they drink, they receive a dose.

Ingredients

Homoeopathic ingredients:

 Caulophyllum, Pulsatilla, Nux vom, Silica

Base Composition

Formulated in a liquid base of human‑grade undenatured ethanol (10%) and purified water.

About Our Ethanol Base

Our remedies are preserved using human‑grade undenatured ethanol, selected for its purity and suitability across species. The gentle 10% concentration supports product stability while remaining appropriate for routine use with companion animals, birds, horses, and livestock.

Ethanol and Animal Administration

Each dose contains only a minimal amount of ethanol. Most animals tolerate this well, and remedies may be administered orally, added to feed or water, or applied topically depending on species and context.

For animals with known sensitivity - or when cautious administration is preferred - the following approaches may be used:

  • Dispense drops into feed and allow to stand for 20 minutes before offering

  • Dilute in a small volume of warm water and allow to stand for 20 minutes prior to administration

These methods allow partial ethanol evaporation while preserving the integrity of the active ingredients.

Ingredient Philosophy

We select ingredients with a focus on purity, safety, and functional integrity. Our undenatured ethanol base reflects this commitment - clean, balanced, and suitable for diverse species, from household companions to performance and production animals.

FAQ's

Is ethanol safe for animals? Yes. Our remedies use a very small amount of human‑grade undenatured ethanol (10%), which is widely accepted as safe for routine use across species.

Why is ethanol used in the remedies? Ethanol acts as a gentle preservative, helping maintain stability and potency over time. It also supports the integrity of homeopathic preparations.

Can sensitive animals still take the remedy? Absolutely. For animals with known sensitivity, drops can be added to feed or diluted in warm water and allowed to stand for 20 minutes. This allows partial evaporation while keeping the remedy effective.

Will my animal taste the ethanol? Most animals show no reaction at all. When added to food or water, the taste is minimal to undetectable.
